My journey began in 1995 when I was in my final year of trade school , I was looking toward the future and to what my next move would be.  I always knew that working for someone else just wasn’t for me and that’s where my vision of being my own boss and owning my own company was born.

My vision was to own a company that offered same day service in a clean professional manner, but I also wanted to give my customers that old fashioned attention to detail service that is very hard to come by these days. In 1996 I graduated trade school and obtained my master electricians license and set out to fulfill my dream.

In the early days of Magothy Electric it was just me in one van working a lot of long hours. As time went on the company grew we had plenty of work and i continued to hire employees and put more vans on the road.

From the outside we seemed to be a thriving company but our P&L told a different story. I learned that while I was an excellent electrician i was not a great businessman. Seeing the direction the company was headed, and to save myself financially, I decided it was best to downsize the company. It was back to one van, me and a lot of long hours.
